“Foreverendia”

15 Dec

I was enthralled by a play I recently saw called “Foreverendia,” by the Black Ship Theatre Co. here in Chicago – SEE IT!!!!….It’s about children creating their own land outside in the snow with blankets, a ladder, boxes, etc…when they were snowed in – and the only way they could get outside was up through the chimney!

Here are some of my favorite parts:

angels with headphones with breaths that smell of cinnamon or rootbeer

“You don’t have to make sense, ok?  Also, you can always laugh, even if not’s appropriate.”

“You don’t have to be serious, you just have to mean it.”

“How come there are stars on the ground here?”  It’s just the way it is here…

“a magic whistle that helps children find their smiles.”

“teaching paper animals how to speak in German.”

“You are forgiven.”
